Ontic Minerals Peacock exclusive eye shadow collection swatches & review! Uus ja eksklusiivne lauvärvikollektsioon Ontic Minerals'ilt!

Today, my lovelies, I have something very special for you! Remember the Estonian first MMU company Ontic Minerals I've been telling you about (here & here)?

Well, you'd better do, because they have launched a brand new exclusive collection of eye shadows (their first exclusive!) and I have the privilege to tell you all about it! I know I have done previous posts on Ontic Minerals mostly in Estonian, but I'm pretty sure I would like to introduce these to everyone else also, so this one is going to be in both languages.

The collection is called Peacock, as you could probably notice from the header.  They are launched specially for the Estonian biggest beauty trade fair of the year Ilu Sõnum/Beauty Word. It consists of four mineral eyeshadows:

  • Green Peace: a kiwi green;
  • Queen of the Beauty Fair: something between cocoa and taupe;
  • Kiss of a Peacock: a full on yellow;
  • Shine like a star: medium denim blue.

I could have a touch on these about two weeks ago at Ontic Minerals event. I couldn't resist and two of these came home with me from MOM event. I shall probably purchase the other two as well (dear hubs, don't be mad, this is money well spent!)

Queen of the Beauty fair

Green Peace
But I'm going to show you the whole collection, as Nadja from Ontic Minerals was kind enough to send me the samples of the other two.

Kiss of a peacock and Shine like a star
These eyeshadows do not contain mineral oil or other petroleum derivates, parabens, gluten, perfume, dyes, talc, bismuth oxycloride, nanoparticles, sulfates, silicones, synthetic colourings, mineral oil. Basically, they should be pure goodness for your skin!

OK, let's torture you no more, the swatches!

L to R: Green Peace, Queen of the Beauty fair, Shine like a star, Kiss of a peacock.  Swatched over UDPP .
These shadows are very soft, buttery, highly pigmented and in gorgeous colours! BTW, did you notice the tiny holographic particles?

Without UDDP, on bare skin.
Queen of the Beauty fair is probably the most pigmented, while Kiss of a peacock is basically matte. Kiss of a peacock is easier to use with a primer, as you can probably notice from the photo above.

I must also note the amazing staying power of these. The swatches only came off with a remover of waterproof makeup.

I haven't had a proper chance to test them in my daily makeup yet, but I expect them to be very good. Must I mention that the colours are totally coordinating with the current jewel eyes trend? Probably not.

The eyeshadows come in elegant 2g shifter jars and cost 9.95 euros each.

These are not available on Ontic Minerals website yet and I forgot to ask whether they are LE or not. You can definitely see them at the upcoming beauty trade fair Ilus Sõnum/ Beauty Word. All mineral makeup by Ontic Minerals is 20 % off at the beauty fair Ilu Sõnum/Beauty Word next weekend, so be sure to visit!

Yours truly,
Tolmu Rull

For my lovely Estonian ladies:

Ilumessihuvilised: juba varsti on siin blogis samuti tulemas midagi suurepärast, nimelt üks väike loosimine!

Beauty Night at The Body Shop Store and Estonian Beauty Bloggers First Meetup

Last Thursday, we Estonian beauty bloggers had a great milestone: our first bigger meeting. I must be the last one to post about it, but I'll still add my two cents.

Lovely Liz from Beautyfromliz had some information that The Body Shop offers Beauty Nights for 4-6 people with some light snacks, a glass of sparkling wine, makeup and product samples. All completely free!

It was an opportunity not to be missed, so we got our act together after some discussions (date! time! our favourite store!) and got our beautiful bodies there. Leelo aka MissL from Beautybymissl even drove more than 200 kms to get there, being 31 weeks+ pregnant!
MissL gazing the TBS makeup.
It was very nice to meet all fellow bloggers. At first we felt all a bit shy as Estonians always do, but by the end of the night felt quite at ease with each other I could say.
Anna-Liisa telling us about TBS skincare.
At first there was an introductory greeting, then some of us went on to get our makeups done, the others listened to a short lecture about The Body Shop skincare ranges (me belonging to the latter party). A first I thought everyone will get a quick new face, that's why I'm wearing just some mineral powder and mascara (and looking quite bland on the pictures, I'd say. But that's OK.)
Me and my almost makeup-free face.
After the introductory part, our gang just kept swatching and sniffing and testing (basically no sample product escaped from our hands!) ... and picking out products we wanted personal samples from to take at home. We liked some products, we disliked the others, but finally no girl left the store without purchase :P And we are a picky crowd!
LiisM, me and MissL are wondering about the ingredients of TBS baby care range.
We even tried to swatch the new Lily Cole Cruelty Free LE collcection a bit. BTW, did I mention, all make up products were 30 % off and all other products 10 % off for us during the Beauty Night?

LiisM is trying to take a photo of the swatches on my hand.
Of course, a lot of opinions and beauty tips were shared, along with some laughter and personal details.
The two hours that felt like an eternity first somehow melted away and then it was time to go home :(
All made up! LiisK...
...Mammu...
... and Angeelika.

Here we are left to right: Angeelika, Mammu, LiisK, Liz, SA Anna-Liisa, me  and MissL.
Have you had any meetups with beauty bloggers from your country?
Does The Body Shop offer free beauty nights in your country? If not, are you a bit jealous of us?

Yours Truly,
Tolmu Rull

For my lovely Estonian ladies:

Alates juuni algusest pakuvad The Body Shopi poed Eestis iluõhtuid 4-6 inimesele. Väikesed näksid, klaas vahuveini, soovijatele meik, The Body Shopi toodete tutvustus, soodustused ja muidugi tootenäidised kõigile koju kaasa. Kogu see lõbu on täiesti tasuta, tuleb vaid meelepärases poes aeg kinni panna.

LiisK leidis vist sobiva jumestuskreemi...
Pärast pisukest sissejuhatust pakuti valida, kas soovime lasta ennast meikida või hoopis kuulata nahahooldussarjade tutvustust. Kolm neiut lasid ennast meikida, mulle tundus nahahooldus seekord paeluvam.

Olevat nõutav see poes kohapeal näkku kanda :P)

Rocca TBS-i särasilmne juhatajanna.
Suur-suur tänu Rocca al Mare The Body Shopi rahvale, eriti särasilmsele juhatajannale, kelle nimi onmul meelest läinud, ja müüja Anna-Liisale!

Urban Decay Naked 2 has just landed!

Just yesterday evening I was doing a small tour around the interwebz, wondering when will Urban Decay infamous Naked 2 palette be finally available in Europe. And voilá -- here it is!

Today, both HQ Hair and Lookfantastic webshops announced that Naked 2 eyeshadow sets are now in stock. Urban Decay brand is not being sold in Estonia anyway, so webshops or getting it while travelling are the only reasonable options for us in my opinion.

At HQ Hair the price is 44.20 euros, at Lookfantastic it is 36 pounds that's roughly an euro less. Both sites offer free worldwide delivery.  I have ordered from both and there's no major difference in service. Maybe Lookfantastic is more careful with the packaging (my first Naked palette arrived a bit damaged, remember?), but then again HQ Hair usually adds some samples. So it's a matter of personal preference which shop to choose. Just be sure to grab it quick and keep your fingers crossed it won't sell out while you are searching for your credit card :)

I know lots of Estonian girls (including myself!)  are also proud owners of the original Naked and I am pretty sure "the most anticipated sequel of the century" will find it's place in many makeup bags and be loved too. As for myself, i'll pass it for now, as I was thinking while I heard about it coming out, but am sure getting it while there's a discount code around and Naked 2 is still in stock.

Yours Sincerely,
Tolmu Rull

* Sorry about the ugly promo photos from internet.

For my lovely Estonian ladies:

Veebipoed HQ Hair ja Lookfantastic teatasid täna, et Urban Decay kuulsa Naked lauvärvipaleti "teine osa" Naked 2 jõudis müügile. Kel huvi, kiirustage!

I've been an awful' good girl! What I got for Christmas

Although we are almoust three weeks past Christmas (already?! oh, no!), I still want to share my beauty-related Christmas presents, because I loved reading other people's gifts posts. (I will not show the rest of gifts, because it's a beauty blog and other things are not really relevant here.)

It's obvious that I've been an awful' good girl during 2011, because Dear Santa listened to my prayers and I got the thing I wished most – a Michael Kors chronograph watch!

Oh no, I realize it should lay on the other side... Sorry!
Initially I had my eye set on a two-tone silver and light gold model, but Santa couldn't find it anywhere and chose this one with silver and rosy gold combination for me. He suggested I might want to change it, but I find it even nicer than my pick. I've gotten a load of compliments on it already!

Although it is a bit out of my usual (colour)comfort zone I really like the design and the mixed metal look and felt one lucky bastard to get it. Especially knowing that a Michael Kors watch was in the wishlist of everyone and their mother!

Look how beautiful it is!
Then there are a pile of things from Estonian natural cosmetics brand Joik: Grapefruit and Mandarin Body Scrub, Peppermint Lip Balm, Chocolate Facial Mask, Deep Moisturizing Salve With Emu Oil and some scented soy wax candles. I was also very happy to receive all of these, must start testing out!

In the background the big bottles are Herbalife Herbal Aloe Everyday shampoo and conditioner. Haven't tried them yet, but they may easily be used mainly by other family members, because my hair needs something more moisturising (I guess).

By the way, those green spheres are hand-made Christmas decorations I received a year before.

I was not very fortunate on Christmas sales this year, but I managed to buy a few presents for myself too. The pressies from myself to dear me are still (!) in the mail, so maybe I will show them some other time :)

Yours Truly,
Tolmu Rull

For my lovely Estonian ladies:

Kuigi jõulud on juba unustusehõlma vajunud, panen üles mõned pildid oma (iluteemalistest) jõulukinkidest. Neist suurim-tähtsaim on muidugi Michael Korsi kell, mis oli tänavu jõuluvanade kingikottides ilmselt päris popp. Loomulikult tegid ka Joiki asjad heameelt, loodan peagi neid katsetama hakata.

It's 2012 already! Time to get down to business

Pilt on varastatud siit

Usually I don't give much thought to New Year resolutions, but this time I feel otherwise. I'm ready for a change. Here it goes.

In 2012 I am going to...

lose some weight. I know, this is the oldest and by far most violented of new-year promises, but I REALLY need it! I'm not overweight, but I used to be thinner and more fit. I have put on a few kilos in the course of last year, probably because of too-high stress levels, poor eating habits and lack of exercise. Most annoying about the weight gain is that I have so many beautiful clothes that won't fit me any more. BOO! I need to get hold of myself and put an end to this sucky situation. I would be very happy even if I managed to lose 5 kgs, but I wouldn't mind losing more. I'll try to do it on my own at first, but if I don't have any success, I'll join the Estonian version of WeightWatchers.

get my lazy butt to the gym finally! I need to make workout a frequent part of my life in order to achieve this weight loss. Of course this is another staple New Year resolution, but we all know better than well I won't be able to achieve my first goal without it... I have my eye on a quite expensive gym/spa my friend also frequents. Mixing dull exercise with some girly chit-chat will probably help me stick around better. I guess joining this gym will be money well-spent, because I know some celebrities who have gotten excellent results there! I consider even getting some advice and motivation-boost from a personal coach – a thing I've never done before.

drink more green smoothies and fresh vegetable juices. How about some celery juice, sounds good? I already have a juicer that has not gotten much use. It's time to dust if off and start drinking those vitamin-packed health-boosting fresh juices! Besides being healthy I'm sure it will be helpful achieving that weight-loss goal. I may even try a fresh juice fast or detox week, but I'm not committing to that yet :P

improve the condition of my hair and let it grow. Right now it's shoulder-length and quite brittle and damaged. I invested into good hair dryer with ionic technology a few months ago. Then I managed to haul some good hair products at the end of last year, when they arrive it's time to put them to use. Also, after two at-home hair-colouring disasters in the end of last year, I need a professional dye job badly and I'm going to get it in a few weeks.

keep up the empties project. So far, it has been going really well! I can already see some free space on my bathroom shelves. Update to come soon!

wear more makeup. Yeah, really! I have so much of gorgeous makeup and yet I sometimes rush out of the door with barely some mascara on. I want to start wearing complicated looks more often and shall try to find more time for doing makeup.

wear high heels more often. Why be just plain, if you can be gorgeous, right?

do some beauty shopping abroad and discover some more foreign brands. That's an easy promise to keep, because I love both shopping and travelling.

sort out my wardrobe and lingerie drawer and throw away ratty old things. No need to explain that, I guess.

not to let any vouchers I've bought expire unused. No need to explain that too.

try to blog more regularly and throw some giveaways (hint: check back here in few days!).

and last but not the least: hopefully make some friends among fellow beautyholics.

I guess that's all. When I counted the resolutions, there were exactly 12, not intentionally I swear :) To be frank, these are all very good resolutions, because I'd have to do all these things anyway, New Year or not :D

Have a very happy year 2012! Let all your wishes come true in the upcoming year of dragon!

Yours Truly,
Tolmu Rull

For my lovely Estonian ladies:

Tavaliselt ma ei usu uusaastalubaduste andmisse ja pidamisse, aga tänavu hing suisa karjub muutuste järele. Kogemata kombel on lubadusi täpselt 12 (kui tore, et pole näiteks aasta 2020 :)). Ja õnneks puudutavad kõik mu uusaastalubadused tegevusi, mida peaksin lähiajal niikuinii ette võtma :)

Head uut draakoniaastat kõigile!

Glambox --kas teie tellite? Glambox vs GlossyBox

Pilt on Glamboxi veebilehelt
This post is available mostly in Estonian only, as it concerns a new service in Estonia: Glambox. It's concept is the same, as with GlossyBox, but I find it is too expensive and meagre for Estonian context. They offer mostly very small samples from cheaper brands. However, I would probably be a subscriber of GlossyBox, if it was offered here.

Yours Truly,
Tolmu Rull

For my lovely Estonian ladies:

Kuigi täna pakuti Cherry's Glambox'i üheks kuuks odavamalt (4.90 eur), ei tõusnud mu käsi siiski vautšerit ostma.

See oli Glambox'i juures kõige pelutavam. Mismõttes ma maksan 7.90 euri ja saan näiteks 2x 15 ml kreemikest ja 3 pisikest 1 ml testrit? Pole üldse hea diil. Testreid ja minisid saab sageli ostudega tasutagi kaasa.

GlamBoxis GlossyBox'is ikka on sageli ka täissuuruses tooteid, isegi sellistelt brändidelt nagu Nars, Stila, Leighton Denny jne. Mõnes pakis on koguni mitu täissuuruses toodet. Seega tundub GlossyBox oluliselt rohkem oma hinda väärt, ehkki on kallim (12.95 inglise naela ehk ligikaudu 15 euri).

Neljandaks, Glambox ei tule mitte koju, vaid sellel peab automaadis ise järel käima.

Seega pean Glambox'i liiga kalliks ja liiga ihneks teenuseks. GlossyBox'i ehk isegi telliksin, kui seda Eestis pakutaks. Milline on teie arvamus? Kas telliksite?

Kui keegi tellis Glambox'i, siis oleks väga tore arvustust lugeda.

Oh, no: Naked again! Naked 2 palette release

I believe it's the official promo picture, from the internet.
Urban Decay have released today "the most anticipated sequel of the century" -- vol. 2 of their famous Naked palette. Along with some Naked shades for the 24/7 pencils and lips products. It's all over the blogs today around the world!

Of course I don't have it yet,  but you can see the palette and some quite good swatches here and here.

My initial thought of the palette is that it is too warm-colored for me and too similar to the initial Naked. I mean, most of us have barely acquired the first one yet. I'm not going to start another race for Naked, no, thank you. Besides, there are a lot of another options, like some Sleek palettes, if you need a good neutrals palette.

I am probably getting it anyway, some day. No rush.

Yours Truly,
Tolmu Rull

For my lovely Estonian ladies:

(Kuri)kuulus Urban Decay pani täna müüki järje oma kuulsale Naked paletile: Naked 2. Kuigi mõlemas paletis kordub vaid üks toon, arvan ma, et pole kiiret Naked 2 paleti omanikuks saamisega. Need kaks paletti on liiga sarnased.

Yves Rocher Jardins Du Monde Eco – a new range of organic shower stuff

I discovered lately, that Yves Rocher has launched a new series of organically certified shower gels or shower products to be precise. The range consists of three items so far: Organic La Gacilly Mallow Shower Cream, Organic Moroccan Argan Shower Gel and Organic African Shea Butter Shower Cream.

These all have a formula that is certified organic by Ecocert. (Ecocert is an independent organization that promotes organic farming and sustainable manufacture process of cosmetics, cleansing products. etc. Ecocert issues documents which certify that the products or services comply with their very high standards.)

The shower products are paraben-free with no artificial coloring, are pH balanced and have 100 % natural fragrance.

I think these news are very welcome. It was about time that the company that pronounces themselves “the first to offer botanical beauty care” and very nature-friendly in general took a step further and offered some true eco-cosmetics. I am quite astonished that they have been only blabbering about their nature-friendliness and showering us with pointless and unwanted “free gifts” with orders instead of launching anything nature-certified before.

I haven't had the chance to try these in the shower, but I did smell them in the shop. All of the smells were pleasant, quite mild and unisex. I have very much liked Yves Rocher shower gels before and have high expectations for this eco-range too.

The shower products cost eur 2.50 each. Available in Yves Rocher shops, via mail orders & in some countries online too.

Yours Truly,
Tolmu Rull

For my lovely Estonian beauties:
Väidetavalt “loodusliku kosmeetika pioneer” Yves Rocher on hiljuti turule toonud uue mahesertifikaadiga pesemistoodete sarja.

Olge normaalsed, milline kingitus on üldse tasuline?

Tolmu Rull
